Phil Miller, Ph.D. serves as a Director on ACCOY Pharmaceuticals, Inc.'s Strategy Advisory Board, Chairman of ACCOY's Diagnostics Advisory Board, and serves as ACCOY's Scientific Advisor. He has spent 35 years growing diagnostic companies. His experience includes research and development, regulatory, operations, business development, licensing, and marketing, not only for the United States but worldwide. His ability to translate ideas into products can be exemplified by his experience at Vantana Medical Systems. In 1988, he was the third employee in the venture capital backed company. He held a number of different roles from acting CEO (for eight months) to Senior Vice President, Technology & Applied Research. A key accomplishment was leading the Research and Development of the IHC systems, including an instrument and a broad menu of reagent kits. This resulted in an innovative system, which is considered the leading product in the field. He initiated Ventana’s intellectual property strategy which resulted in numerous patents covering both the instrument and the regents. These patents supported Ventana's buyout by Roche Holding AG for $3.2 billion in 2008. Prior to joining Vantana, Dr. Miller successfully developed a myriad of commercialized diagnostic systems and products as the senior R&D executive for companies like Nichols Institute Diagnostics, and Abbott Laboratories. His experience at Abbott spanned both diagnostics and pharmaceuticals R&D. Dr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Indiana University in 1971 and a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa: College of Science University of Arizona 2011.
